I am convinced my good health it is due to the holistic lifestyle that I have practiced since my late-teens. As a result, my immune system is rock-solid.
Now as a Classical Naturopathic Doctor, Master Herbalist, and Minister of Health, I’d like to share some ways that you too can bolster your immune health.
* Drink half your body weight in ounces of high-quality filtered or spring water daily (i.e. if you weigh 150 pounds,
then you should drink seventy-five ounces). Remember, if you feel thirsty, then dehydration has already set-in.
Water has been my primary beverage for more than twenty years. I always add lemon to my water in restaurants, because lemon kills any bacteria that may be in the water by making the water acidic, while becoming alkaline ash in the stomach. I also like to cut-up fresh fruit filling the bottom of a pitcher with berries, watermelon or kiwi and pouring water over the fruit. I let the container sit in the refrigerator overnight and in the morning I have real fruit water. Nothing added and the water totally takes on the flavor of the fruit.
Additionally, I drink most of my water laced with chlorophyll because it mimics red blood cells and aids to strengthen them. I like the brand by Nature’s Sunshine, which has a flavor of spearmint and makes it more palatable as a primary beverage. I pour in the chlorophyll concentrate until the water becomes dark green.

* Make a Super Food green drink daily loaded with chlorophyll, spirulina, wheatgrass, barley, blue-green algae. I
recommend Green Vibrance and I put it in a smoothie with frozen fruit and Green Goodness juice by Bolthouse Farms.
I also recommend SuperGreens loaded with sixty-seven grasses and leaves to restore alkalinity to the body get at:

Eliminate the whites—bread, pasta, bread, rice, and sugar. These are devitalized foods that tear down your immune system. Never eat white bread, choose multi-grain breads instead. Never use margarine or butter spreads, choose REAL butter always. Do not consume any aspartame products—Equal, Sweet ‘n’ Low, Splenda, these are all poisons and the primary culprit for new diseases with fancy names like Fibromyalgia.

I like to cut my fruits and freeze them so that they are readily available for making a smoothie instead of using ice. Or, I love to puree fruits and use them as ice cubes in homemade lemonade, juices or champagne.

All-Purpose Cleaner
suggested uses:hard surfaces like countertops and kitchen floors, windows and mirrors
Option 1
2 cups white distilled vinegar
2 cups water
20-30 or more drops of essential oil (optional)
Tip: Warming in microwave until barely hot will boost cleaning power for tough jobs. Only microwave in a glass container.
Option 2
Dissolve four tablespoons of baking soda in a quart of warm water. Wash and rinse.
Option 3****Nina’s Favorite!****
1 cup of hot water
1 tsp washing soda 2 teaspoons of borax
1/2 tsp liquid castile soap
10 drops lemon oil
3 drops tea tree oil
1/4 cup vinegar
Put all of this in a 16 oz spray bottle shake well and then fill
remainder of bottle with hot water. Shake well and use! You can store
it for future use.
Quick Wipe-Ups
Lightly apply baking soda to a damp sponge. Wipe and rinse.
Creamy Soft Scrub
2 cups baking soda
½ cup liquid castile soap*
4 teaspoons vegetable glycerin (acts as a preservative)
5 drops antibacterial essential oil such as lavender, tea tree, rosemary
or any scent you prefer (optional)
Mix together and store in a sealed glass jar, shelf life of 2 years.
Tips: For exceptionally tough jobs spray with vinegar first—full strength or diluted, scented—let sit and follow with scrub.
Dry soft scrubs can be made with baking soda or salt (or combination of both) with 10-15 drops essential oil to scent
Paste: Mix three parts baking soda with one part warm water (adjusting for consistency). Clean and rinse.
Furniture Polish
Shake well before using
(2 teaspoons lemon juice may be substituted for lemon oil but then must
be stored in refrigerator)
Dip a clean, dry cloth into the polish and rub wood in the direction of the grain. Use a soft brush to work the polish into corners or tight places.
Tips:
-To remove water spots rub well with toothpaste.
-To remove scratches use 1 part lemon juice and 1 part oil, rub with soft cloth.
Option 1
Sprinkle toilet bowl with baking soda, drizzle with vinegar, let
soak for at least 30 minutes and scrub with toilet brush.
Option 2
Put ¼ cup borax in toilet bowl and let sit for at least 30 minutes. Swish with a toilet brush and then scrub. A few drops of pine oil can be added for increased disinfecting. (Note: some people are allergic to pine oil.)
Tip: Let ingredients soak for a while to make for easy scrubbing, especially on persistent stains like toilet bowl rings
Drain Opener
½ cup baking soda
½ cup vinegar
Pour baking soda down the drain and follow with vinegar. Cover and let sit for at least 30 minutes. Flush with hot boiling water.
Tip: Prevent your shower from clogging by using a drain trap to catch hairs.
Laundry Detergent
1 cup soap flakes
1/2 cup washing soda
1/2 cup Borax
Soap flakes can be made by grating your favorite pure vegetable soap with a cheese grater. Mix ingredients together and store in a glass container. Use 1 tablespoon per load (2 for heavily soiled laundry), wash in warm or cold water.
This standard recipe can be adjusted for:
-soft water: use 1 cup soap flakes, 1/4 cup washing soda, 1/2 cup borax.
–hard water: use 1 cup soap flakes, 1 cup washing soda, 1 cup borax.
Note: Borax should not be ingested.
Tips:
-Add 1/2 cup white distilled vinegar to rinse as a fabric softener.
- For a whitener, use hydrogen peroxide rather than bleach. Soak your dingy white clothes for 30 minutes in the washer with 1/2 cup 20% peroxide. Wash as usual.
*Diapers and baby clothes will get a cleaning boost when soaked and washed with Borax. It helps get rid of odors, reduces staining and makes cloth diapers more absorbent. Be sure to flush out heavily soiled diapers and begin soaking then as soon as possible, using ½ cup borax for each diaper pail of warm water. Follow soaking with a hot water wash, adding ½ cup borax along with recommended amount of detergent.
Delicate Hand Washables
Dissolve ¼ cup of 20 Mule Team® Borax and 1 - 2 tablespoons detergent in a basin of warm water and soak them for 10 minutes. Rinse in clear, cool water, blot with a towel, lay flat (woolens) or hang to dry (away from sunlight and direct heat).
Odor ControlCarpets, upholstery and pet areas ~Sprinkle baking soda directly on surface. Vacuum after 15minutes.
Garbage pails ~Wash with borax and warm water. Sprinkle a little dry borax in the bottom of dry pail.
Refrigerators
1 quart warm water 1 tablespoon Borax
Wash with sponge or soft cloth. Rinse with cold water.
Mattress ~Rub borax into area to neutralize urine from mattress and mattress cover let dry. Brush or vacuum to remove.
Humidifiers ~Dissolve 1 tablespoon borax per gallon water then add to unit. Rinse.
These cleaners work!
Wondering if cleaners made with basic ingredients like baking soda and vinegar work? Well, they do!
What do vinegar and baking soda do?
Vinegar deodorizes; dissolves mineral deposits and grease; removes
soap traces, mildew and wax build up; polishes brass, chrome, copper,
pewter and stainless steel; cleans brick and stone; removes decals and
stickers; and removes water spots on leather.
Baking soda neutralizes acid; scrubs shiny materials without scratching;
deodorizes refrigerators, carpets, upholstery, vinyl and drains;
extinguishes grease fires; and cleans and polishes aluminum, chrome,
jewelry, plastic, porcelain, silver, stainless steel and tin.
What about getting rid of bacteria or mold? Can ingredients like vinegar or borax really do the job?
Scientific studies have directly compared the efficacy of natural cleaning agents like vinegar and borax to commercial cleaners. For example, several studies have shown regular household vinegar to be as effective or nearly as effective as commercial cleaners in eliminating microbes like E.coli from surfaces and sponges -- effectively eliminating between 90-98% of bacteria.
For removing dirt and soil from surfaces, studies have shown that borax or plain old soap and water with a little elbow grease do the job just as well as commercial cleaners. Lastly, in one study looking at mold, borax received top marks for removing mold from walls right along with commercial cleaners.
Do I need to worry about disinfecting?
Disinfection is important in certain situations - like reducing the
spread of infection in hospital settings, or reducing food-borne illness
in food service establishments, and it is recommended for individuals
who are immuno-compromised. But for most folks it is unnecessary to
sterilize every surface in your home to stay healthy. In fact, the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that one of the best
methods for effectively reducing and preventing illness is regular hand
washing!

It's
been said that God first separated the salt
water from the fresh, made dry land, planted
a garden, made animals and fish... All
before making a human. He made and provided
what we'd need before we were born. These
are best & more powerful when eaten raw.
God left us a great clue as to what foods help what part of our body...This is called the Doctrine of Signatures. An excellent lesson indeed...
